This is a rare opportunity to witness an energetic and dynamic theatre production here at The Stute through a production linked to last year's Rail 200 celebrations.

On the threshold between labour and creation, body and mind blur in a quickening spiral. Two workers harness their powers of creation to free themselves from eternal drudgery – beckoned to pioneer a new world.

But what is the cost of this uncharted future?

Taking inspiration from Celtic mythology and the monumental invention of the first passenger-carrying train, Locomotion No. 1, CARRIAGE is a physicalisation of the euphoria of invention and a celebration of working-class ingenuity and effort – a contemporary folktale.

This is the second public performance of CARRIAGE, the debut show from emerging northern physical theatre company Resound Theatre.

Resound Theatre is a physical theatre company based and founded in the North. Starting from a concept or text, their shows are brought to life through a blend of object theatre, intuitive movement and original sound design to create ground-shaking theatrical experiences.

Commissioned by TeesDance and Creative Darlington (Darlington Borough Council). With generous support from Arts Council England, Sheffield Theatres, Darlington Hippodrome, ARC Stockton and The Forum.

To make the opportunity affordable to all this is a 'pay-as-you-feel' production with no fixed ticket price - so secure your ticket early.
