Owing to a directive from the Government, yesterday evening was our last day of trading for what could prove to be some length of time. This means that unfortunately, we will need to take the following course of action regarding things going on at your institute during the coming weeks.
It is with much regret that all private bookings are now suspended. Events that have been booked with us will not be permitted to go ahead for the duration of the period of time that we are closed. As we don't know how long that will be we are unable to give any indications here as to when you might be able to start booking again, or whether any private bookings with us in the more distant future will be able to go ahead. The most sensible thing we can do is treat all bookings as cancelled for now, and then when we are permitted to re-open we will contact those who have bookings in place for that date forward to check whether the room hire is still required. Naturally, we want to be here for you all, but under the current circumstances, it is most important that everyone stays safe and healthy.
Our Events (and ticket guidance)
Of course, the same principles apply to the events that we have organised including the Easter Ceilidh, Born Villains concert, 1940s Fundraiser for the crashed wartime bomber crew memorial, brass concerts etc. Again we don't know how long this situation will last so we'll have to keep one eye on the news.
With regard to these events, we appreciate that many people have bought tickets already and that with the Institute now closed it will be difficult to manage any requests for refunds. We'd like to stress that all of our events are postponed rather than cancelled; our intention is to rearrange them all for fututre dates. On that basis any tickets already purchased will be valid for the rearranged date, however we understand that the new date might not be convenient so we will refund tickets if requested. The important thing to do is to hold on to your tickets until at least we are able to open again.
It looks like a very uncertain time ahead, so please, everyone stay safe until such time as we can return to something like normality.
